Hi All:
I found this picture in a 1958 University of Alaska (Fairbanks) yearbook. Airplane is my 1938 Fairchild 24J, 145 hp Warner engine which I flew to Alaska from L.A. I am scraping the snow off the wings which is a chore we are spared at Tyagarah. (Although, of course, we have bird shit.) The Fairchild was a stable, forgiving bird and a delight to fly.
Cheers,
Norm
The Fairchild Model 24, is a four-seat, single-engine monoplane light transport aircraft that was used by the United States Army Air Corps as the UC-61 and by the Royal Air Force. The Model 24 was itself a development of previous Fairchild models and became a successful civil and military utility aircraft.

Hi Norm, I read your speech to Parliament 12/05/1987 where you mentioned meeting the wonderful Eartha Kitt. Do you recall when that occurred. My cousin met her at Wrest Point Casino. He thought it was 1973. Regards Kevin
Hi Kevin. I flew Eartha Kitt over the Tasmanian Southwest on 8 March, 1979. I also took her bush walking on Mt. Wellington. She was a remarkable woman. She was a regular visitor to Wrest Point and could well have been there in 1973. Cheers. Norm Sanders

I am trying to get in contact with you! Bob Brown gave me your mobile number and email address but I could not get through. Can you email me or call on 0419764632.
I am documenting my time at the Franklin Blockade where Peter Woof and I ran the 80m link from Starhan to St Johns Falls. I also flew with you and helped you clean out the dunnies!
Regards
